10 Aug Parents, don’t forget to pack student’s ‘Emotional Backpack’
Sarasota [Florida] certified counselors Poppy & Geoff Spencer stress the importance of parents equipping their children with more than just the usual school supplies.
“We suggest emotional things so they can create problem solving opportunities and give them positive mindsets, and give them courage,” they said.
In a news release the Spencers said, “The Emotional Backpack is filled with all of the solutions to challenges that…students face: Unfair treatment, bullying, problem solving, social cliques, popularity issues, lack of educational proficiency, peer pressure, illegal substances, gender differences, and why kids ‘get into trouble.'”
